Alpha is a relaxed series of social gatherings, designed to explore life’s biggest questions — meaning, purpose, and spirituality — in a way that’s open to anyone, regardless of belief.

Alpha is not a sales pitch, lecture or a sermon - think of it more like open ended dinner-table discussion. Each week you share food, watch a short video on a topic like “Is there more to life than this?” or “Who was Jesus?”, and then have space to ask questions or challenge ideas in a group setting.

There’s no pressure to agree or disagree with anything — the point is simply to create a safe place to explore, doubt, and discuss.

Every Alpha session follows a simple, easy and engaging format:

Get together for a feed

Meet up and enjoy good food while connecting with others in a friendly setting. We put on the food and the venue, all you have to do is rock up! 

Watch a short video

Each session includes a short video that explores the big questions of life, faith and Jesus.

Join the Conversation

Following the video there is an open conversation where you can share your thoughts and ask questions - nothing is off limits. If you would prefer to just listen— that is totally fine as well! There’s no obligation to speak.

Do I have to have a faith to attend?

No! Alpha is for everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs. You’re welcome to come as you are, with whatever faith beliefs you have.

How much does it cost?

Alpha is completely free! Meals and drinks are all provided, so come hungry.

How long is Alpha?

We start Alpha with a one-off Launch Event. If you choose to continue, this is followed by a series of sessions that run for between 6-10 weeks, depending on how the course is structured. Each session typically takes 2 hours.

An Alpha Launch Event is a one-off evening that gives you a taste of what Alpha is like. You’ll share a meal, hear a short talk, and join in relaxed conversation around some of life’s big questions.

The event is designed to offer an insight into how Alpha runs, but there’s absolutely no obligation to continue afterwards. It’s simply an open invitation to come along, see what Alpha feels like, and decide if you’d like to explore further!
